Moving Waters is Expanding: Thank you to Wheeler Ave Baptist Church
On April 28th, 2026, Moving Waters opened its 5th shower location in Houston’s Third Ward.
Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church is now partnering with Moving Waters, providing the site for its 5th mobile shower service location to deliver dignity and clean showers. Moving Waters will operate there on Tuesdays from 9am - 1pm. This expansion gives the Houston-based nonprofit more room to operate and provide showers to our unhoused neighbors across Greater Houston.
In addition to shower services, Moving Waters is proud to partner with Vel Health at this location. Dr. Evans and his son, Donavon Evans, a neurology resident, join us each Tuesday at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church to provide medical care for our unhoused guests. This partnership allows Moving Waters to go beyond hygiene and offer holistic care that addresses both physical health and dignity.
