Nonprofit providing showers, hygiene stations to Houston homeless
On May 10, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) began hosting mobile showers and hygiene stations every Monday, thanks to a partnership with Moving Waters, a Houston-based nonprofit.
Founded by Jennifer Park in 2019, Moving Waters aimed to enhance the lives of homeless individuals in Greater Houston by providing essential hygiene services.
The nonprofit's mobile shower service, which visited locations where homeless individuals found temporary shelter, was seen as a catalyst for poverty alleviation and personal enrichment.
NAM President and CEO Les Cave expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its alignment with NAM's mission to meet basic human needs.
