Who is Moving Waters?
Welcome to Moving Waters, where compassion meets action to improve the lives of unhoused individuals in the Galveston and Houston area. Since 2019, our nonprofit has been providing mobile shower services, offering dignity and hygiene to those in need. Inspired by Christ's teachings, we believe that by serving the least among us, we serve Him. Through the dedication of volunteers and the support of donors, we bring light into the lives of our unhoused brothers and sisters.
What is Socktober
Socktober is Moving Waters' October donation drive to collect new socks and underwear for our unhoused neighbors. These basic essentials may seem small, but having clean socks and underwear after a shower can help someone feel clean, comfortable, and dignified. Throughout October, our community can come together to donate these everyday necessities and help Moving Waters continue its mission of restoring dignity, one shower at a time.
How can I help?
